Roll on the Mattole 2020

With all the uncertainty & concerns surrounding corona virus & gatherings of large groups of people, the Honeydew Volunteer Fire Company has made the heart wrenching decision to cancel what would have been this years’ 31st ANNUAL Roll on the Mattole.

Last year over 700 people attended the event, with another 100+ volunteers donating their time & energy before, during & after the Roll.

For the past 31 years the HVFC has relied on community support & donations to fund operations and equipment costs. We are hopeful that the community will continue to support us in 2020 by making a cash donation directly to the Fire Co, perhaps in the amount you and your friends & family would have spent attending the Roll this year?
Donations can be made to:
PO box 74
Honeydew, CA 95545

Be well, be safe.

By law, if an animal’s purpose or task is to provide protection, emotional support, well-being, comfort, or companionship, it is NOT considered a service animal and may NOT come to the Roll on the Mattole.  Qualified and bona fide service animals are welcome at the Roll on the Mattole. Pets and non-service animals are NOT permitted. It is a crime to misrepresent a pet as a service animal. Those who conceal their non-service animals at the gate to the Roll will be ejected from the Grange grounds without refund.
All service animals must be trained for a specific function, related to a disability, housebroken, leashed and under the direct control of their handler at all times. If any handler does not adhere to these conditions, the handler will be asked to remove the animal from the site. The handler then may return without the animal.
HVFC reserves the right to refuse admittance to or eject any individual whose conduct poses a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals or service animals.
Any Roll patron arriving at the Grange grounds gate with a service animal will need to declare their service animal at the ticket table. Once your service animal has been presented, staff are not likely to question you again unless the animal causes a problem.  Parking staff will not allow an animal to be left in a vehicle due to the chance of the animal expiring from the heat.  There is no guarantee of shaded parking spaces, and you cannot tether them to your vehicle.  The animal is either with you or you leave the event.
